2016 Timor-Leste Boramba Kindergarten
2016 Boramba School Kindergarten (a room in the Escola Pre-Secondaria Foho Ailico, Ainaro)
Project 3 - Completed 2016In 2016, in a room of the Foho Alico secondary school, we opened up Boramba kindergarten. (The first independent Grub Club project undertaken in Timor Leste was the building of the 4-room Foho Alico schoolhouse at Boramba, completed in 2013)
To open this kidergarten we cemented the floor of the school house and the local lads, led by Kamal, re-plastered walls and painted them fresh, seal both ends of the building, fixed furniture, hung new solid lockable doors and new blackboards. We also purchased lino for the kindergarten floor, which finished it off nicely. A big thank you to DCP-TL Daniel and Antonio for their help, it was very much appreciated.
We also trained our 3 kindergarten teachers - Juela Da Costa Ramos, Zelia Maria Da Costa and Rosalia Da Costa.
Our kindergartens usually have an attendance of around 30 to 40 kids (ranging from 3 years old to 6 years old) - gaining a valuable education.
