David is a respected Coffs Harbour community leader who was elected to the board of directors for the Cex Group in 1990 and has been the president of the establishment for over 30 years.
A Vietnam Veteran with 23 years of military service David deployed to South Vietnam in 1966 and 1970 as a forward observer and artillery surveyor and was subsequently wounded in action by a command detonated anti-tank mine while travelling in a Land Rover during his second tour of duty.
Eventually retiring to the Coffs Coast as a banana grower and raising his two daughters alongside his wife Lois, David has a strong background in clubs and community engagement and has been a vocal and active campaigner for veteran welfare through numerous ex-service organisations.
